Changemaker fellowship
Accessibility statement
Our commitment
Caribou is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for persons with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to our digital platforms. Our goal is to ensure that the Changemaker Fellowship program, in collaboration with Microsoft Elevate, is inclusive from the very first point of contact.
Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. This landing page of the Changemaker Fellowship is partially conformant with WCAG level AA.
Partially conformant means that some parts of the content may not yet fully conform to the accessibility
standard. As we open applications across several cohorts, we are actively refining our platform to improve conformance and accessibility for every applicant.
Measures taken to support accessibility
We have implemented the following features to improve the experience for all users:
- Semantic structure: Logical heading hierarchies (H1, H2, H3) to support screen reader navigation.
- Visual clarity: Audited color contrast ratios and font sizes for readability.
- Alternative text: Descriptive alt text for all functional and informative imagery.
- Motion reduction: Minimized decorative animations to support users with motion sensitivities.
- Keyboard navigation: Optimization of elements for non-mouse users.
